Registration of dietary supplements (DS)

Registration of dietary supplements in the Republic of Uzbekistan is a mandatory procedure that confirms their safety and compliance with established sanitary requirements before being placed on the market.

Ministry of Health divisions involved in DS registration

The following government bodies are involved in the registration of dietary supplements:

• Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan — carries out state registration and makes the decision on the admission of DS to the market;

• Authorized expert organization — conducts sanitary-hygienic and toxicological evaluation;

• Sanitary and epidemiological authorities — assess the safety of the composition and the conditions of use of the DS.

DS registration procedure

The registration procedure for dietary supplements includes the following steps:

• preparation of the registration dossier and product composition;

• submission of documents to the authorized body;

• sanitary-hygienic and expert evaluation;

• laboratory testing of samples, if necessary;

• registration decision and inclusion of the DS in the State Register.
